IS THIS TRIP FOR YOU?
This trip is for divers who like a little edge to their adventure. The North Carolina coast isn’t the Caribbean — and that’s exactly the point. These offshore dives are dynamic, exciting, and full of life, with a very different feel than warm, easy reef cruising.
Expect deeper ocean dives with variable conditions. Water temps typically sit in the mid-70s, and those cooler currents are what bring in the schooling fish, sand tiger sharks, and abundant marine life this area is known for. These are dives that feel earned — and wildly rewarding.
Because of the depth and offshore environment, Advanced Open Water and NITROX certifications are required, along with a good level of confidence in the water. If you’re comfortable, capable, and excited by real ocean conditions, you’ll thrive here.
Not there yet? We’ve got you. We’re happy to train with you and offer Advanced Open Water and NITROX courses to get you dialed and ready for this epic coastal adventure.
JUNE 13th & 14th ~ JULY 11th & 12th
AUGUST 1 & 2
We recommend arriving in the area the day before the trip, as we’ll be on the boat early to take advantage of the best offshore conditions. We also suggest staying the night after our second day of diving so no one is driving tired — but ultimately, that choice is up to you.

TRIP DETAILS
-
All divers must bring their own mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, and a 5mm wetsuit. Due to the offshore environment, dive lights and SMBs are highly recommended.
Don’t have everything? No problem. We offer rental packages for all required gear — just let us know what you need when booking so we can get you properly outfitted.
You’re welcome to bring a camera if you have one, but no stress if you don’t. Our crew will be capturing the magic either way.
RECOMMENDED GEAR:
Boat Coat / hoodie for the boat in case of winds
Sea sickness meds if you are prone
Snacks and drinks for the boat - Bring a refillable water bottle!
-
The boat departs from Beaufort Marina, launching from the dock directly in front of Discovery Diving. We recommend staying nearby, with Morehead City and Atlantic Beach being great home bases with plenty to do before and after diving.
We highly recommend planning at least one extra day on either end of the trip to explore the area. When we’re not underwater, you’ll find beautiful beaches with great shelling, walkable downtown districts with excellent restaurants, the North Carolina Aquarium, and plenty of coastal exploring.
-
This trip includes a private two-tank offshore charter on a dedicated dive boat, with captain and crew, plus water onboard.

Due to the limited spots and private nature of this trip, all bookings are non-refundable if you cancel on your own accord. If we are able to rebook your spot, we’re happy to do so — in that case, your payment will be refunded minus a $100 rebooking fee per person.
The Carolina coast can be fickle, and offshore conditions are always weather-dependent. We’re fortunate to partner with a charter that offers refunds or credits if the trip is called due to weather. If the boat is cancelled by the charter because of conditions, you may choose to receive a full refund or apply your payment as a credit toward a future coastal trip with us.
If the boat is running and you decide not to dive due to conditions, this is considered a personal cancellation and the full trip cost will still apply.
While weather can shift plans, the upside is that there’s plenty to explore in the area if we’re blown out — beaches, town time, good food, and coastal wandering included.
